ZADE RICHARDSON WINS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JULY 22, 2024 - Zade Richardson has won the Frontier League Player of the Week award.
For the second time this season, Zade Richardson of the Florence Y'alls has been honored as Player of the Week. The Florence utility man continued to be a plus-hitter after the All-Star Break, going 5-for-8 in three games with two doubles, a triple, and a home run. Richardson registered multiple hits in two of the three games against the Lake Erie Crushers this past weekend, including a 2-for-3 line with a home run, a triple, and two RBIs on Saturday. He also increased his on-base percentage by drawing two walks and getting hit by a pitch three times. On top of achieving a sweep of one of the top teams in the West division, Richardson finished his weekend with .625 AVG/.769 OBP/1.500 SLG splits.
Richardson has been impressive with the bat all season and currently leads the Y'alls in batting average (.330). His defensive versatility goes unsung for the most part, seeing time at catcher and first base when he is not the designated hitter. He has already surpassed his RBI total from 2023 in 13 fewer games and is on pace for a career year in all major offensive categories.
