QUEBEC RIGHT-HANDER RYAN SANDBERG SIGNS WITH BREWERS

QUÉBEC - Right-hander Ryan Sandberg of the Québec Capitales has signed with the Milwaukee Brewers, the team announced Friday on social media.

Sandberg, a native of Island Park, New York, came to the Frontier League in 2023 after pitching collegiately at both Florida Atlantic University and Wilmington University. After starting his professional career with the Empire State Greys, Sandberg was traded to the Québec Capitales and helped the team win their second championship.

This past season, Sandberg emerged as part of a dominant pitching staff and put up a career year. He posted a minuscule 2.18 earned run average and a 107-20 strikeout-to-walk ratio while helping lead the Capitales to their third consecutive Frontier League championship.

Sandberg is the first Frontier League player of 2025 to sign with a major league team. Yuhi Sako of the New Jersey Jackals and Trevor Kuncl of the Lake Erie Crushers are the two other players who have been picked up since the conclusion of the 2024 season. Sako signed with the New York Mets and Kuncl signed with the Cincinnati Reds.
