OTTAWA TITANS RECEIVE COMMISSIONER’S AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
AVON, OH - The Frontier League announced today that the Ottawa Titans have received the Commissioner’s Award of Excellence following a record-setting 2026 season both on and off the field.
The Commissioner’s Award of Excellence recognizes organizations and individuals who make an extraordinary impact on the Frontier League through their work, accomplishments, and contributions to the growth of the league.
Ottawa opened the 2026 season by setting a new Frontier League single-game attendance record on May 8, selling 10,278 tickets for their home opener at Ottawa Stadium.
“We congratulate the Ottawa Titans on another outstanding season,” Frontier League Commissioner Steve Tahsler said. “Starting with the record-setting crowd on Opening Night, the Titans organization demonstrated throughout the 2026 season why they are one of the top operations in all professional baseball. When all club staffs visited Ottawa last fall for our annual staff meetings, it was evident how proud the Titans are to represent Canada’s Capital Region.”
The record-setting opener highlighted another year of attendance growth for the Titans. Ottawa finished the regular season fourth in the Frontier League in both total and average attendance, welcoming 116,302 fans across 47 home games for an average of 2,475 fans per game.
The 2026 season marked the fourth consecutive year of increased attendance for Ottawa. The Titans drew 99,004 fans in 2025 after welcoming 94,140 in 2024, continuing a trend of attendance growth in every season since the organization began play.
Ottawa also found success through a creative promotional schedule that generated attention throughout the season.
One of the Titans’ most notable promotions came on July 7 with “Forget Brady Day.” Fans were invited to trade in Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk jerseys in exchange for Titans infielder A.J. Wright jerseys, with more than 50 fans participating in the promotion.
The Titans’ promotional calendar also included Women in Baseball Night on July 17, Theme Night (Taylor’s Version), celebrating Taylor Swift, on July 31, and Soirée Francophone, celebrating Francophone culture, on August 8.
Ottawa’s success extended to the field, where the Titans secured a Wild Card berth in the 2026 Frontier League playoffs. Ottawa will face the New Jersey Jackals in this week’s Wild Card Round, beginning with Game One at Ottawa Stadium on Thursday evening.
