The Québec Capitales exploded for 18 runs, while the Sussex County Miners broke out offensively with a 16-run performance to hand the New York Boulders a lopsided loss. Tri-City scored nine first-inning runs to cruise past Ottawa, Joliet clinched its series at Lake Erie, New Jersey stayed hot with another win over Down East, and Brockton, Windy City, Mississippi, and Evansville also earned victories on Wednesday. FLORENCE Y’ALLS 4 @ WINDY CITY THUNDERBOLTS 7 The Windy City ThunderBolts responded to a 7-4 loss on Tuesday with a 7-4 win of their own over the Florence Y’alls in the second game of the three-game series at Ozinga Field Wednesday afternoon. 


GATEWAY GRIZZLIES 2 @ MISSISSIPPI MUD MONSTERS 9 The Mississippi Mud Monsters (20-27) took the morning matchup in game two of their three-game series against the Gateway Grizzlies (22-24), riding a strong debut from newest Mud Monsters hurler John Walsh and another productive day at the plate to a 9-2 victory.

 

TRI-CITY VALLEYCATS 11 @ OTTAWA TITANS 3 The Tri-City ValleyCats sent 13 batters to the plate, banged out six hits, and scored nine runs in the top of the first as they topped Ottawa, 11-3, on Canada Day, July 1.

 

JOLIET SLAMMERS 10 @ LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS 8 Even with four of their five scoring plays being from home runs, the Lake Erie Crushers (20-27) still could not beat out a Joliet Slammers (20-25) team who always just barely stayed in the lead. The Slammers would win 10-8 to take home the series in just two games against the Crushers on Wednesday.

 

TROIS-RIVIÈRES AIGLES 2 @ BROCKTON ROX 6 The Brockton Rox remain a perfect 8-0 against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles, securing a 6-3 victory Wednesday evening to take game two of the series. 

 

NEW YORK BOULDERS 5 @ SUSSEX COUNTY MINERS 16 –  The Sussex County Miners erupted for 16 runs on 12 hits Wednesday night, routing the New York Boulders 16-5 at Skylands Stadium before a crowd of 1,365. It was one of the Miners’ most complete offensive performances this season.

 

QUÉBEC CAPITALES 18 @ SCHAUMBURG BOOMERS 3 The Québec Capitales stormed passed the Schaumburg Boomers on Wednesday night, winning 18-3.


WASHINGTON WILD THINGS 4 @ EVANSVILLE OTTERS 8 The Evansville Otters (28-17) took advantage of a strong outing from Landon Willeman to take game two of the series against the Washington Wild Things (31-16) on Wednesday night, 8-4.

 

DOWN EAST BIRD DAWGS 6 @ NEW JERSEY JACKALS 14 - On an even hotter night than the night before, the Jackals offense was alive and well in a 14-6 win over Down East Wednesday night.
