Friday night around the Frontier League featured plenty of late-game drama, highlighted by extra-inning battles in Evansville and Ottawa. The Evansville Otters stayed unbeaten with another thrilling win over Florence, while the Ottawa Titans and Québec Capitales also needed extra frames to decide their matchup at Ottawa Stadium. Elsewhere, the Sussex County Miners continued their Opening Day success with another walk-off victory in front of the home crowd at Skylands Stadium.

TRI-CITY VALLEYCATS 7 @ NEW JERSEY JACKALS 1 -  The Tri-City ValleyCats opened the 2026 season with a 7-1 win at New Jersey on May 8.

SCHAUMBURG BOOMERS 5 @ LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS 4 - After coming from behind in 30 of 58 wins during the 2025 campaign, the Schaumburg Boomers came from behind to win the opener of the 2026 season, rallying late to record a 5-4 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers on the road Friday night.

BROCKTON ROX 3 @ NEW YORK BOULDERS 7 - The New York Boulders (1-1) picked up their first win of the

season, rolling over the Brockton Rox, 7-3, at Clover Stadium.

QUÉBEC CAPITALES 6 @ OTTAWA TITANS 4 - In a record-setting season opener, the Québec Capitales (1-0) defeated the Ottawa Titans (0-1) by a 6-4 final in Sudden Death on Friday night, spoiling the Titans’ Home Opener in front of an electric crowd at Ottawa Stadium.

DOWN EAST BIRG DAWGS 3 @ SUSSEX COUNTY MINERS 4 - Frontier League baseball is back, and the Sussex County Miners (1-0) kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very end of the home opener. The Miners walked off for the second consecutive Opening Day, defeating the Down East Bird Dawgs, 4-3, in dramatic fashion at Skylands Stadium.

GATEWAY GRIZZLIES 6 @ MISSISSIPPI MUD MONSTERS 5 -  The Gateway Grizzlies fell behind early in the middle game of their series against the Mississippi Mud Monsters, but tallied five unanswered runs in the middle frames, then warded off the home team down the stretch for a 6-5 victory at Trustmark Park on Friday night.

WASHINGTON WILD THINGS 8 @ JOLIET SLAMMERS -The Washington Wild Things used a three-homer effort and solid pitching performances to slam the Joliet Slammers on Joliet’s opening night, 8-2. Graham Brown, Caleb Ketchup and Cole Fowler all homered while Andrew Czech matched the franchise record for career doubles in a win that also saw three pitchers put up shutout efforts.

FLORENCE Y'ALLS 6 @ EVANSVILLE OTTERS 7 - Amani Jones drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th as the Evansville Otters (2-0) took the game and series from the Florence Y’alls (0-2), 7-6 in 10 innings.
