Schaumburg jumped into first place in the West Division with its second straight road shutout, while Down East scored four in the ninth for a comeback win over Trois-Rivières and Gateway won its third straight behind two homers from Jose Cordoba. New Jersey, Brockton, Lake Erie, and Mississippi also opened their series with victories on Tuesday.

NEW JERSEY JACKALS 3 @ NEW YORK BOULDERS 2 – The Boulders suffered their season-high fourth straight setback, falling in their series opener with the New Jersey Jackals, 3-2 in 10 innings, on Tuesday afternoon at Clover Stadium.

BROCKTON ROX 5 @ JOLIET SLAMMERS 2 – The Brockton Rox grabbed the opening game of the series to the Joliet Slammers, 5-2, on Tuesday night at Slammers Stadium.

GATEWAY GRIZZLIES 8 @ FLORENCE Y’ALLS 7 – The Gateway Grizzlies got a huge game at the plate from Jose Cordoba on Tuesday night in Florence, as the newcomer hit two home runs, including the game-winning smash in the ninth inning, to lead them to an 8-7, come-from-behind win over the Y’alls at Thomas More Stadium, the club’s third in a row.

LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS 5 @ WASHINGTON WILD THINGS 1 –  The Lake Erie Crushers (27-34) got a brilliant pitching performance from their starter and some clutch hitting against the Washington Wild Things (41-20) to take the first game of their 12-game road trip. 

DOWN EAST BIRD DAWGS 7 @ TROIS-RIVIÈRES AIGLES 5 – The Down East Bird Dawgs trailed heading into the ninth inning but exploded for four runs to stun the Trois-Rivières Aigles 7-5 at Stade Quillorama Tuesday night, opening the series with a dramatic comeback win and improving to 28-33 on the season.

EVANSVILLE OTTERS 2 @ MISSISSIPPI MUD MONSTERS 3 – Behind the right arm of Brian Williams, timely hitting and a dazzling defensive play by Kyle Booker, the Mississippi Mud Monsters (26-35) locked down a 3-2 series-opening victory against the Evansville Otters (35-24).

SCHAUMBURG BOOMERS 5 @ WINDY CITY THUNDERBOLTS 0 - The Schaumburg Boomers recorded a second straight road shutout at Windy City, vaulting over the ThunderBolts and into first place in the West Division with a 5-0 win on Tuesday night.
