New Jersey swept a Friday night doubleheader over Sussex County, and New York extended their winning streak to three games with a series-opening win at Brockton. Tri-City, Québec, Trois-Rivières, Schaumburg and Windy City also picked up wins on Friday.



DOWN EAST BIRD DAWGS 4 @ TRI-CITY VALLEYCATS 10 – The Tri-City ValleyCats had a complete-team win as they picked up a 10-4 victory over the Down East Bird Dawgs in front of 4,309 fans of the 1980s on a picturesque night at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on August 28.

NEW YORK BOULDERS 10 @ BROCKTON ROX 5 – The Boulders made it three wins in a row Friday night, taking their series opener at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, MA, 10-5 vs. the Rox.

WASHINGTON WILD THINGS 6 @ FLORENCE Y'ALLS 0 – Entering Friday’s series opener in Florence and his 14th start of the season, Kobe Foster sported a career 0.82 ERA against Florence in 10 appearances, nine of which were starts. In 55 career innings against the Y’alls, he had allowed only five runs including a shutout earlier this year over nine frames. When he exited tonight’s start in a 6-0 Washington win, he had lowered his career ERA against Florence to 0.73 with seven shutout frames that included just two hits allowed and six strikeouts.

OTTAWA TITANS 3 @ QUÉBEC CAPITALES 6 – The Québec Capitales (67-27) handed the Ottawa Titans (50-42) a 6-3 defeat on Friday night, extending Ottawa's losing streak to five games in a row.

GATEWAY GRIZZLIES 4 @ SCHAUMBURG BOOMERS 7 – The Schaumburg Boomers debuted their alternate identity as the Chicago Burbs and opened the final home weekend of the regular season with a 7-4 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies on Friday night at Wintrust Field.

LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS 2 @ EVANSVILLE OTTERS 7 – The Evansville Otters (58-36) recorded their franchise-record 58th win, taking game one of the series against the Lake Erie Crushers (38-55) on Friday night, 7-2.

WINDY CITY THUNDERBOLTS 7 @ MISSISSIPPI MUD MONSTERS 4 – The ThunderBolts broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the eighth inning and held on for a 7-4 victory over the Mississippi Mud Monsters at Trustmark Park Friday night.
