Opening Weekend came to a close Sunday with more offense, walk-offs, and statement performances around the Frontier League. The Sussex County Miners once again delivered late-game heroics at Skylands Stadium, while Ottawa and Québec combined for 25 runs in one of the wildest games of the young season. Elsewhere, the Trois-Rivières Aigles and Windy City ThunderBolts split a doubleheader in Crestwood, highlighted by a dominant shutout win from the Aigles in game one.

GAME 2:

TROIS-RIVIÈRES AIGLES 1 @ WINDY CITY THUNDERBOLTS 2 - The ThunderBolts held off the Trois-Rivières Aigles 2-1 in game two to wrap up a doubleheader split at Ozinga Field Sunday afternoon. The Bolts dropped game one 13-0.


SCHAUMBURG BOOMERS 2 @ LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS 5 -  The Lake Erie Crushers (1-2) found their rhythm offensively on Sunday as they took down the Schaumburg Boomers (2-1) 5-1 for their first win of the season at ForeFront Field. They salvage a game in the Opening Weekend series from the Boomers and head into next week with a bout against the Windy City ThunderBolts.

QUÉBEC CAPITALES 10 @ OTTAWA TITANS 15 - It was a long one on Mother's Day, as the Ottawa Titans (2-1) came out on top with a 15-10 victory over the Québec Capitales (1-2), securing their first series win of the year.

DOWN EAST BIRD DAWGS 4 @ SUSSEX COUNTY MINERS 5 - The Sussex County Miners capped off Opening Weekend in dramatic fashion on Sunday afternoon, walking off the Down East Bird Dawgs 5-4 on an RBI single by Edwin Mateo in the bottom of the ninth inning at Skylands Stadium.

TRI-CITY VALLEYCATS 6 @ NEW JERSEY JACKALS 10 -   The Jackals took the first series of the year with a 10-6 win over the Tri-City ValleyCats on Sunday afternoon.

WASHINGTON WILD THINGS 8 @ JOLIET SLAMMERS - Consistent scoring from Washington early on was not enough as the Slammers clutched out a 9-8 win on Sunday.
