Windy City, Mississippi, Down East, Tri-City, Florence and Schaumburg also picked up victories, with Florence extending their winning streak to 10 games and Schaumburg rallying from five runs down behind a go-ahead grand slam.




OTTAWA TITANS 9 @ BROCKTON ROX 8 Down by as much as five runs, the Ottawa Titans (42-31) mounted a comeback to defeat the Brockton Rox (33-41) by a narrow 9-8 final on Wednesday afternoon.


WINDY CITY THUNDERBOLTS 8 @ NEW YORK BOULDERS 7 Justin Fogel had five hits and four RBIs to lead the ThunderBolts to an 8-4 win over the New York Boulders at Clover Stadium Wednesday afternoon.


MISSISSIPPI MUD MONSTERS 10 @ LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS 4 After both offenses scored three runs through the first two innings before both pitchers settled in, the Mississippi Mud Monsters (30-44) slugged their way to a 10-4 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (30-44) Wednesday afternoon.


DOWN EAST BIRD DAWGS 9 @ WASHINGTON WILD THING 6 The Down East Bird Dawgs steal game two from Washington after a two-double, 5 RBI, and a sudden death home run performance from All-Star Christian Adams to take a 9-6 win over the Wild Things on Wednesday night. Down East and Washington combined for 27 hits and 20 strikeouts in the middle game of the three-game set.


QUÉBEC CAPITALES 4 @ TRI-CITY VALLEYCATS 7  The Tri-City ValleyCats scored twice in the bottom of the first, second, and third innings on the way to a 7-4 win over the Quebec Capitales in front of 2,909 Hot Dog enthusiasts at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on August 5.


FLORENCE Y’ALLS 5 @ SUSSEX COUNTY MINERS 3 –  With their backs against the wall, Florence Y’alls (44-30) reliever Will Carsten loaded the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the ninth of a tie game. He escaped it with a fielder’s choice play at the plate, strikeout, and lineout to take a 5-3 extra-innings win and extend their win-streak to 10.


SCHAUMBURG BOOMERS 8 @ GATEWAY GRIZZLIES 7 The Schaumburg Boomers were trailing 6-1 entering the eighth but scored seven times, capped by a go-ahead grand slam from Kellum Clark, rallying to stun the Gateway Grizzlies on the road with an 8-7 decision on Wednesday night.
