LEONARDO RODRIGUEZ WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD

Right-handed reliever Leonardo Rodriguez wins the Pitcher of the Week award after dominating in three separate appearances for the Lake Erie Crushers. On Tuesday against the Florence Y’alls, Rodriguez pitch 1.1 scoreless innings while striking out two. He had a similar effort across two innings in the Thursday series finale. He closed his week out with two more scoreless innings against the Mississippi Mud Monsters on Saturday, allowing only two hits while striking out five. He ended his week with 5.1 scoreless innings, nine strikeouts, and no walks.



Rodriguez is in his second season with the Crushers. Last season, he was part of one of the best pitching staffs in the Frontier League and contributed to a team that made an appearance in the Division Series. Rodriguez averages over a strikeout per inning in his Frontier League career. He is the first reliever to win Pitcher of the Week since Gateway’s Colton Easterwood did so in July 2023.
