KOBE FOSTER WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD
AVON, OH – For the third time in five weeks, the Washington Wild Things claimed the Pitcher of the Week award thanks to Kobe Foster’s dominant outing.
Washington Wild Things left-handed pitcher Kobe Foster fired a complete game shutout over the Florence Y’alls on Friday. The southpaw went the distance, allowing just three hits while striking out eight and walking one.
Friday’s outing represented Foster’s third scoreless start this season, and the Wild Things are now 5-0 in games that he’s started this year. Foster leads the Frontier League in both ERA (0.78) and WHIP (0.750) and is second in innings pitched (34.2).
Foster is in his fifth season with Washington and is the franchise leader in wins (34), innings pitched (388.3), and strikeouts (346). The southpaw earned an all-star nod in 2024 and was the League’s Rookie of the Year in 2022. He joined the Wild Things after graduating from Tennessee-Wesleyan University in 2022 and re-signed with Washington ahead of this season.
