KNOCKOUTS BOLSTER INFIELD WITH ADDITION OF ZACH MAY
The New England Knockouts have signed infielder Zach May to a Frontier League contract. May was a free agent prior to the signing.
May, 26 years old, brings three years of independent experience to the Knockouts. Most recently, May played 41 games for the Idaho Falls Chukars, alongside Knockouts teammate Mark Herron Jr. During that span, May collected 28 RBI's and eight home runs.
Before Idaho Falls, May played two seasons in the independent Pecos League under the Trinidad Triggers (Trinidad, CO). During his time in Trinidad, May batted an impressive .364 at the plate, along with nearly 140 RBI's and 37 home runs. In his independent career, May has batted .326 with over 150 total hits.
May's collegiate days were also very impressive. As a transfer student from St. Petersburg College, May played two years for Fitchburg State University in 2020 and 2021. During the 2020 season, May only had 30 plate appearances, posting four RBI's and three runs scored. 2021 was a significant increase in production. May batted an astounding .397 in nearly 80 at-bats. He also collected five home runs and 23 RBI's.
Prior to his collegiate and professional days, May hailed from Rochdale, Massachusetts. He graduated from Lawrence Academy in 2017, where he played both baseball and hockey.
