JEFF LIQUORI WINS PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

AVON, OH – As the Frontier League opened its 34th season this past weekend, players from two of the longest tenured members dominated the action to earn the first 2026 weekly awards.

Jeff Liquori had a strong opening night, hitting two home runs for the Washington Wild Things. Liquori reached base in all four of Washington’s games and added a league-leading third home run against Joliet on Saturday. Liquori ended the first weekend of the regular season tied for second with a 1.000 slugging percentage and fifth with his 1.412 OPS.

Liquori returns to Washington after appearing in 85 games for the Wild Things in 2025. He finished third on the team in doubles (17), home runs (9) and RBI (50) last season. Liquori posted double-digit home run figures during his final three seasons of college baseball and was named First Team Sunshine State Conference while at Florida Southern.
