JACK EISENBARGER WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD
Lake Erie left-hander Jack Eisenbarger pitched in bookend games of two different series this past week, performing masterfully in both. His first game on Tuesday against the Joliet Slammers saw him pitch 6.2 shutout innings while striking out eight and only allowing one hit. He then closed the week with an outstanding six strikeout-eight inning performance, allowing only two runs on six hits to the Gateway Grizzlies. He took the win in both contests, helping put the Crushers in first place in the Central Division.
Eisenbarger is another ace on the Lake Erie pitching staff next to former Pitcher of the Week Anthony Escobar. He is the team leader in strikeouts (57) and ranks second in wins (4). This is Jack’s second time winning the award, doing so last season during the week of June 9 when he pitched a complete-game shutout.
