HANK ZEISLER WINS PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD
Hank Zeisler, the captain of the Florence Y’alls, showcased his leadership by leading the Y’alls to a 5-1 record last week. Across the six games, Zeisler went 11-for-19 with two doubles and three homers while driving in nine. He also walked seven times and stole three bases. The biggest moment of the week for the Florence outfielder, however, came on Saturday against the Lake Erie Crushers when he launched a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning. That grand slam was his third of this season, which ties the Frontier League record for most grand slams in a single season. His stat line for the week was .579 AVG/.677 OBP/1.211 SLG.
Zeisler is in his third season in Florence and is on track to make it his best offensive year yet. In Just 31 games, he has team-leading 8 home runs and 32 RBIs; he also ranks fourth on the Y’alls with his .298 batting average. The Kentfield, California native has taken on a more significant role offensively this season after Florence had both Blaze O’Saben and Dalton Davis had their contracts purchased by the Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners, respectively. Zeisler grabs the Player of the Week award two weeks after infielder Armani Smith won it.
