Sussex County and Down East each opened their series with 1-0 shutout victories, while Florence rallied past Lake Erie and New York needed 10 innings to defeat Trois-Rivières. Québec, Evansville, Schaumburg, Washington, and Windy City also picked up series-opening wins on Tuesday.




SUSSEX COUNTY MINERS 1 @ TRI-CITY VALLEYCATS 0 – The Sussex County Miners win game one of the three game series, winning by a score of 1-0 against the Tri-City ValleyCats. 

 

DOWN EAST BIRD DAWSG 1 @ NEW JERSEY JACKALS 0 – Stephen DiTomaso led off the game with a home run, and Drew Henderson did the rest, delivering seven scoreless innings in the best start of his season as the Down East Bird Dawgs edged the New Jersey Jackals 1-0 at Hinchliffe Stadium Tuesday night, opening the series with a shutout victory.

 

LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS 4 @ FLORENCE Y’ALLS 6 – The Florence Y’alls (47-32) picked up a comeback 6-4 win over Lake Erie on Tuesday night to open a six-game homestand.

 

BROCKTON ROX 4 @ QUÉBEC CAPTIALES 12 – The Québec Capitales defeated division rivals Brockton Rox 12-4 on Tuesday night, taking game 1 of the series at Stade Canac.

 

NEW YORK BOULDERS 11 @ TROIS-RIVIÈRES AIGLES 9 – The Boulders outlasted the Trois-Rivières Aigles, 11-9 in 10 innings to take a 3-hour, 52-minute series opening marathon on Tuesday night at Stade Quillorama.


GATEWAY GRIZZLIES 0 @ EVANSVILLE OTTERS 6 – The Evansville Otters (47-32) got another quality start from Colby Morse as the long ball led the way in a game one win against the Gateway Grizzlies (36-43) on Tuesday night, 6-0.

 

SCHAUMBURG BOOMERS 7 @ JOLIET SLAMMERS 3 – The Schaumburg Boomers scored three runs in the sixth and added three insurance tallies in the ninth to pull away from the Joliet Slammers and grab a 7-3 victory in the opener of a six-game roadtrip on Tuesday night.

 

WASHINGTON WILD THINGS 10 @ MISSISSIPPI MUD MONSTERS 5  Behind a barrage of offense in the second half of the game and six multi-hit performances, Washington took the opener in Pearl against Mississippi, 10-5. A returning Zach Kirby yielded two runs over 5.2 innings for his sixth win of the season, moving to 6-0 in the effort.

 

OTTAWA TIANS 6 @ WINDY CITY THUNDERBOLTS 9 - Seven runs across the first two innings for the Windy City ThunderBolts offense proved to be enough Tuesday night, as the Bolts defeated the Ottawa Titans 9-6 at Ozinga Field.
