ETHAN WILDER WINS PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD
AVON, OH - During their series with the ThunderBolts, it seemed like Ethan Wilder was always on base for the Wild Things. In 13 plate appearances, Wilder recorded eight hits, two walks and three RBIs, giving him a whopping .727 batting average after the first weekend of the 2025 season. He capped his impressive series in Crestwood by going 4-for-4 at the plate and driving in two runs in the series finale on Sunday. After the first set of games, Wilder’s stat line is at .727 AVG/.769 OBP/.818 SLG.
Wilder came to the Wild Things last season via Lander University, helping them win a franchise record 67 games as well as a division title and an appearance in the Frontier League Championship Series. Wilder had several teammates bring home a weekly award last season, but this is the first time that he himself has been given the honor of Frontier League Player of the Week.
