DAVID GLANCY’S NINTH-INNING HOME RUN DELIVERS ATLANTIC CONFERENCE Y’ALL STAR WIN
FLORENCE - KY, - When the Frontier League named its first round of 2026 All-Stars at the beginning of the month, the Atlantic Conference roster featured five outfielders. David Glancy of the Tri-City ValleyCats was not one of them.
During Wednesday’s Y’All Star Game in Florence, he proved his late inclusion to the team worthwhile, drilling a go-ahead solo home run in the ninth inning to give the Atlantic a 2-1 lead. Ottawa’s Brett Garcia shut the door in the bottom of the frame to seal the one-run win.
Glancy, who also scored the Conference’s first run of the game on Austin White’s seventh-inning single, took home MVP honors following his ninth-inning heroics.
Until Glancy crossed the plate for the first time, the Midwest held a narrow advantage in a pitcher’s duel. Evansville’s T.J. Salvaggio drove in Gateway’s Jose Alvarez in the sixth for the game’s first run, while six pitchers combined to blank the Atlantic.
Washington’s Kobe Foster got the start for the Midwest and struck out two over his one inning of work. Schaumburg’s Buddie Pindel, Gateway’s Gage Vailes, Windy City’s A.J. Campbell, Lake Erie’s Edwin Sanchez, and Washington’s Landon Ginn followed with scoreless innings of their own before White tagged Schaumburg’s Caleb Riedel for the tying run.
The Atlantic’s pitching was equally impressive through five, with five pitchers combining to hold the Midwest to two hits.
Québec’s Braeden Allemann worked a perfect first, while Ottawa’s Kaleb Hill, New York’s Garrett Cooper, and New Jersey’s Connor Maryniak each turned in shutout frames. After Salvaggio’s single, New York’s Jalon Long, Québec’s Conner Floyd, and Garcia each worked scoreless innings while the offense rallied.
Atlantic pitchers held the Midwest to just four hits — all singles — in the game, with Washington’s Anthony Brocato getting thrown out while trying to stretch a single into a double.
The only multi-hit showings came from the Atlantic side, where Glancy and Québec’s Kyle Crowl each tallied two hits on the day.
Tri-City’s other representative, outfielder Dylan Broderick, also made a difference in the game, robbing Joliet’s Ian Battipaglia of extra bases with a leaping catch at the wall in the first inning.
Frontier League action resumes on Friday, with all 18 teams back in action after an off-day on Thursday.
