CHRISTIAN ADAMS WINS PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

AVON, OH – The Down East Bird Dawgs earned their first weekly award of the season, with utility player Christian Adams taking home Player of the Week with 16 hits and 16 RBI in six games.

 

Down East Bird Dawgs utility player Christian Adams recorded at least two hits in five of the six games that he played this week. Adams homered and drove in all three of Down East’s runs in a 6-3 loss to the New York Boulders on Tuesday. He drove in another three runs and picked up three hits the next day in a 16-1 win. Adams wrapped up the series with a 4-for-4 day at the plate on Thursday, notching a home run and double in an 11-7 loss. 

 

Adams stayed hot against the Sussex County Miners, continuing his hit and RBI streaks across all three games of the series. He added another home run and double on Saturday amid a 3-for-6, 5 RBI day, and tallied three more hits on Sunday. Overall, Adams slashed .552/.567/1.000 with three home runs and four doubles on the week. He’s the first player in franchise history to earn Player of the Week honors. 

 

Adams is in his second season with the Bird Dawgs. He joined the team in August and played 14 games for Down East in 2025. He spent his final collegiate season a Georgia after playing two years at Florida Atlantic and one at Indian River State College. This season, his .397 batting average leads the League.
