WASHINTON, PA - After being shut down for the most part in game one, the Québec Capitales dominated the second game of the Frontier League Championship to even the series at one game apiece with the Washington Wild Things.

The Capitales clobbered the Wild Things' pitching early on, notching six of their seven extra-base hits in the first three innings. Québec wasted no time in scoring, grabbing a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run blast from third baseman David Glaude. The Wild Things kept things close, cutting the lead in half with a solo shot from third baseman Tommy Caufield before first baseman Andrew Czech drove in a run with a double into the left-center field gap.

Québec continued to hit well in the second; after the first batter went down swinging, the Capitales collected three runs on four consecutive base hits to force right-handed starter Dariel Fregio from the game. Glaude was the first to see the new pitcher, righty Malik Barrington, and greeted him with an RBI double to make it 6-2 Québec. Designated hitter Justin Gideon joined in with an RBI single before catcher Anthony Quirion blasted a two-run bomb to push the Capitales' lead to seven.

Québec picked up another pair of RBIs in the third, including a run-scoring single from first baseman Ruben Castro, to make it 11-2. Washington was gifted a run in the bottom of the third on an error to stop the bleeding, but would not score again until the seventh.

Designated hitter Tyreque Reed and left fielder Wagner Lagrange both registered RBIs in the seventh to pull the Wild Things to within six. Right fielder Brandon McIlwain tripled home a run in the ninth to make it 11-6, but right-hander Nick Trabacchi closed things out with a groundout to secure the win for the Capitales.

The series will now shift to Stade Canac in Québec City on Friday, tied at one game apiece. First pitch for a crucial third game will be at 7:05 PM EDT.
