BRIAN WILLIAMS WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD
Mississippi Mud Monsters’ right-hander Brian Williams earns Pitcher of the Week after he pitched in the second game of a six-game series this past week. He tossed seven scoreless innings to even the series for Mississippi while not allowing a walk. Williams allowed only two hits while striking out seven, grabbing the win for the Mud Monsters at Trustmark Park.
Williams is the first-ever Mud Monster to earn a weekly award in the Frontier League. The 27-year-old righty is in his rookie year in the Frontier League and in his third season of professional baseball overall. His time with the Mud Monsters has seen him put up career numbers, including a team-leading 43 strikeouts in 43.1 innings. Williams has also been stingy when it comes to allowing baserunners, with a WHIP of just over 1.01.
