ANTHONY BROCATO WINS PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

AVON, OH – The Washington Wild Things earned two more weekly awards in Week 6, with outfielder Anthony Brocato claiming Player of the Week after hitting five home runs in four games, and Kobe Foster taking home his second-straight Pitcher of the Week award after firing a no-hitter.

Washington Wild Things outfielder Anthony Brocato started his week with a three-homer game on Wednesday against the Windy City Thunderbolts. He went deep twice in the sixth inning and again in the eighth and ended the day 4-for-5 at the plate. It was the first three-home run game in franchise history for Washington.

Brocato struck twice more over the weekend, drilling a three-run home run against the New Jersey Jackals on Saturday, and notching a two-run shot on Sunday. He slashed .526/.526/1.421 on the week and recorded five home runs, two doubles, and 14 RBIs.

Brocato is in his sixth season with the league, and his third with the Wild Things. He signed with the Southern Illinois Miners in 2019 after playing collegiately at St John’s University and played there again in 2021. The outfielder joined Washington for the 2022 and 2023 seasons and re-signed with the Wild Things in December. His 98 Frontier League home runs rank third-most in league history, and he’s just two away from moving into a tie for second place.
