ANDRES PARRA WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD

AVON, OH – The Lake Erie Crushers captured their first weekly honors of the season in week four. 

 

Lake Erie LHP Andres Parra claimed his award thanks to two strong starts.


The Crushers’ Left-hander Andres Parra conceded just a single unearned run over 11 innings across two starts this week. He fired 6.1 innings in a win over the Florence Y’alls on Wednesday, allowing three hits, two walks, and an unearned run while striking out four. 

 

Parra took the ball again on Saturday, keeping the red-hot Washington Wild Things in check. The left-hander spun 4.2 scoreless frames while allowing five hits, three walks, and punching out five. 

 

Parra joined the Crushers in November after pitching in the Baltimore Orioles organization from 2022 to 2024. The Venezuelan-born southpaw became the youngest opening day starter in Lake Erie history this season when he toed the rubber on May 8 at 21 years and 50 days old.
