AARON EVERS WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD

AVON, OH - Right-hander Aaron Evers took the hill as the starter in the middle game against the Wild Things on Saturday. The former Oakland Golden Grizzly started the game by striking out the side, which included both the reigning Frontier League Most Valuable Player and 2024 batting champion. His dominance continued throughout the evening, not allowing a base hit until the seventh inning. All told, Evers struck out eight over 6.2 innings and allowed only one hit in his first start in the Frontier League.

Evers is one of several new faces on the pitching staff for the Bolts this season. He spent time last season in the United Shore Professional Baseball League with the Westside Woolly Mammoths. Although he struck out 25 in 20 relief appearances in 2024, Saturday’s game marked his first professional start. He is also the first ThunderBolts player to win a weekly award since Logan Schmitt did so in July, 2023.
