2025 FRONTIER LEAGUE PREVIEWS: DOWN EAST BIRD DAWGS

The Down East Bird Dawgs will be one of two expansion teams that will be debuting in the their Frontier League in 2025! Making their home at historic Grainger Stadium in Kinston, North Carolina, the Bird Dawgs will compete in the East Division of the newly formed Atlantic Conference.

While the Bird Dawgs may be a brand-new team, Kinston has an extensive history with America’s Pastime; professional baseball has been played in Grainger Stadium since the late-1940s, beginning with the Kinston Eagles of the Coastal Plain League. Since then, Carolina League and affiliated minor league teams occupied the ballpark before the Bird Dawgs announced their establishment in October. Down East will act as the first-ever Frontier League team in the Carolinas.

One of the most important upcoming events for the Bird Dawgs will be the Frontier League Tryout Camp and Draft. The team finds itself in an ideal situation, owning the second overall pick as well as the first pick in the second and third rounds.

The Bird Dawgs have already begun to fill out key staff positions. The current front office team is comprised of:

-         Shari Massengill, General Manager
