2025 Frontier League Awards Announced
As the 2025 regular season moves into its final weekend, the Frontier League is proud to honor the 2025 All-Frontier League Team and its 2025 annual award winners. The following individuals and clubs have been recognized by voters from around the league for excellence in the 2025 season:
The Morgan Burkhart Most Valuable Player Award: Anthony Calarco, Schaumburg Boomers
Schaumburg’s Anthony Calarco’s record-setting season propels him to the honor as the Frontier League’s 2025 Morgan Burkhart Most Valuable Player. In addition to setting the league’s all-time single season mark for RBIs, Anthony has set multiple team records for production. His torrid offensive output saw him top the team’s all-time RBI mark before the All-Star break, with the league record toppling on August 14. Anthony was recognized as the league’s Player of the Week twice this season, first for his performance in week five of the season and again for the week ending on August 24.
The Brian Tollberg Pitcher of the Year Award: Braeden Allemann, Québec Capitales
In his first season with the Québec Capitales, Braeden has put up a 0.96 WHIP, with more than 135 strikeouts to just 32 walks. Braeden was the Pitcher of the Week in week five of the season, when he threw the season’s only no-hitter on June 6. His standout performances earned him the starting nod for 2025 All-Star Game.
The Jason Simontacchi Rookie of the Year Award: Ian Battipaglia, Joliet Slammers
Ian Battipaglia punctuates his All-Star debut campaign with the Rookie of the Year award. He was named Frontier League Player of the Week for week 7 of this season, and leads the Slammers in runs, stolen bases, hits and doubles. Ian came to the Frontier League out of Franklin Pierce University, where he was a four-time ABCA All-Region selection.
The Roger Hanners Manager of the Year Award: Patrick Scalabrini, Québec Capitales
After winning his fourth consecutive Frontier League division title, Québec Manager Patrick Scalabrini has been named the Roger Hanners Manager of the Year for the second consecutive season. The Capitales have led the way in the Atlantic Conference’s North Division the full season and enter the playoffs as three-time defending Frontier League champions.
The Bob Wolfe Executive of the Year Award: Martin Boyce, Ottawa Titans.
Martin Boyce has served as Ottawa’s general manager since the club’s inception. Ottawa set multiple attendance records along the way in the 2025 season, highlighted by a home opening crowd of 7,152. Under Martin’s leadership, the Titans have established roots in the Ottawa region, building a brand and organizational culture that are instantly recognizable as their own.
