PLAYER ELIGIBILITY RULES
Roster limits are a minimum of 22 players and a maximum of 24 players during the season. Each Club must have a minimum of 10, 11 or 12 players with less than one year of professional experience, depending on their roster size. These players will hold Rookie status. There is no maximum to the number of Rookies a Club may carry. Rookie I status is for any player with no prior professional experience. Rookie II status is for any player with prior professional experience but would still hold Rookie status based on his statistics.
Each Club may have a maximum of 7 players with one year of professional experience a maximum of 2 players with two years of professional experience and a maximum of 3 players with three or more years of professional experience. Players with 3 or more years of experience will hold Veteran status.
However, if a Club does not have the maximum number of players in a particular classification, they may fill their roster with players from a lower classification.
No player in the League may turn 27 years of age prior to January 1 of any season.
Any player that is 21 years of age or younger prior to January 1 of any season and is entering his first year in the Frontier League, regardless of professional experience will be considered a Rookie by Frontier League Rules. Any player who is 22 years of age or older prior to January 1 of any season, is entering his first year in the Frontier League, and has prior professional baseball experience, will be classified by the existing Frontier League Rules.
NOTE: One year of experience is defined as for pitchers, more than sixty (60) innings pitched and/or more than thirty (30) appearances and/or for hitters, more than one hundred fifty (150) at-bats in any professional season.
