FLORENCE Y'ALLS RYAN WATSON WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MAY 13, 2024 - After an outstanding start on Opening Night, Florence Y'alls RHP Ryan Watson is this week's Pitcher of the Week.

Watson took the bump for the Y'alls on opening night and was outstanding against the Québec Capitales. In five shutout innings on Thursday, Watson allowed five hits while striking out five batters and not allowing a walk.

This is Watson's first Pitcher of the Week award in the Frontier League, but not the first time being recognized for a great performance. While pitching at Georgia State University in 2023, Watson struck out 13 batters in the Sun Belt Championship.

Watson, a Georgia native, is in his second season with Florence. He signed with the Y'alls after five season at Georgia State where he threw 251.2 innings while striking out 213 hitters, accruing a 3.13 K/BB ratio.
