2025 FRONTIER LEAGUE PREVIEWS: TRI-CITY VALLEYCATS
2025 is set to build on what has been an exciting last year for the Tri-City ValleyCats. Last season was full of memories for the organization, with the team making their first postseason appearance since 2018. 2024 also saw the first-ever Frontier League Wild Card game at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Entering this season, the ‘Cats are a team to keep an eye on in the Atlantic Conference.
Tri-City showed itself to be another one of the great fan environments in the Frontier League in 2024, with “The Joe” hosting over 165,000 fans (3,000 per game on average) at games and events.
In January, the club announced that it would host the 2025 Frontier League All-Star Game. The ValleyCats’ fifth season in the league has officially been dubbed “The All-Star Season” by the team, with the annual mid-summer classic scheduled for Wednesday, July 16th.
The ValleyCats saw three of their former pitchers make their debut in Major League Baseball in 2024: Houston Astros right-hander Blair Henley (’19), Miami Marlins right-hander Valente Bellozo (’19) and Texas Rangers right-hander Kumar Rocker (’22). In total, 115 former ValleyCats have made an appearance on a major league roster.
In the front office, Ed Krajewski was promoted to Assistant General Manager -- 2025 marking his fifth year with the organization.
One of the biggest events returning to “The Joe” this season will be Tri-City’s spectacular Independence Day Celebration on July 3rd and 4th when the New Jersey Jackals come to town. Last season, the two-day celebration saw close to 9,000 fans come out to enjoy the games, festivities, and fireworks spectacle.
