Miners To Conclude Suspended Game vs Slammers On August 6th
Southern Illinois and Joliet will finish contest from July 21st on Saturday, August 6th at 5:05
Marion, Ill. (July 25, 2016) – The Southern Illinois Miners announce that they will conclude their suspended contest against the Joliet Slammers from July 21st at Silver Cross Field on Saturday, August 6th at Rent One Park beginning at 5:05 p.m.
The Miners and Slammers will pick up where the game was suspended due to inclement weather, heading to the bottom of the seventh inning with the game tied at 7-7 and Joliet coming to bat, and play that game out to its regular, nine-inning conclusion. If the game is still tied after nine innings, then regular Frontier League rules apply for extra innings, with the International Tiebreaker taking effect if the contest remains tied after ten innings.
Southern Illinois and Joliet will then play their regularly-scheduled contest for that night against each other after the conclusion of the suspended game. That game will be seven innings in length.

The Miners return to action when they open up a three-game series against the Windy City ThunderBolts beginning on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. Dyllon Nuernberg will take the hill for Southern Illinois against Windy City’s Kyle Von Ruden.
