SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — With the Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, tied for the league’s best record and just six home games remaining in the regular season, the defending Frontier League Champions announced today that 2014 Playoff Tickets are available now.
Tickets for 2014 Boomers playoff games are on sale now for the same affordable regular season price with $7 lawn seats and $10 box seats when purchased in advance to go along with free parking at every game in #Boomerica. Home playoff games will follow standard 2014 game times with Monday through Friday games a 6:30 p.m. first pitch, Saturday games at 6 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 1 p.m.
While game dates and times have yet-to-be-determined with seven teams vying for six playoff spots over the season’s final two weeks, the first home playoff game in Schaumburg could potentially be on Saturday, September 6 following the LAP All-Star Challenge featuring former Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox legends competing in a softball game for charity at 4:00 p.m.
- If the Boomers win the West Division, the first home game would be Wednesday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m.
- If the Boomers finish as the three or four-seed, the first home game would be Saturday, September 6 after the LAP All-Star Challenge.
- If the Boomers finish as the five or six-seed, the first home game could potentially be Monday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m. after the Boomers travel to the three or four-seed for a one-game playoff on Saturday, September 6.
The Frontier League expanded the playoffs in 2014 to include six teams. The Wild Card Round will be a single-elimination game pitting the four Wild Card teams against one another with the three seed hosting the six-seed and the five-seed traveling to the four-seed on Saturday, September 6. The second round a.k.a the Divisional Series will be a best-of-three series beginning on Monday, September 8 with that game hosted by the lower seed. The Championship Series remains a best-of-five series and would begin at the home of the highest remaining seed on Saturday, September 13.
The Schaumburg Boomers have six regular season home games remaining on the schedule as this current homestand continues Tuesday, August 26 at 6:30 p.m. against the Rockford Aviators. Schaumburg sits tied atop the West Division Standings with a magic number of just four to take the first step in defending its 2013 crown and earn a second consecutive playoff berth.
