Outfielder Ryan McIntyre of the Windy City ThunderBolts and Aaron Newcomb of the Gateway Grizzlies have been selected as the Frontier League Player of the Week and Pitcher of the week respectively, as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation.

McIntyre, in his first season with Windy City, was a force to be reckoned with in the first week of the season, going 8 for 11 in the ThunderBolts’ opening series against the Frontier Greys, scoring eight runs, driving in two and walking once. A Traverse City, MI native, McIntyre joins the ThunderBolts after three seasons in the Miami Marlins organization.

Newcomb made his season and Frontier League debut on Saturday, facing the Traverse City Beach Bums. He dazzled, pitching eight innings of one hit ball, striking out 4 on his way to a 1-0 victory.  Newcomb, a Centralia, IL native arrives in the League after spending parts of the past two seasons with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization.

Pointstreak provides the league with its statistical software and in game scoring applications.
